The Insight Out Learning

The resource, developed by The Glasgow School of Art in partnership with NESTA, Scottish Institute for Enterprise and Grays School of Art, offers an enterprise learning tool kit that can be embedded in the creative curriculum. This comprehensive tool kit enables academic staff to effectively embed enterprise thinking and learning within their curriculum. The resource contains four models, supported by graduate entrepreneur case studies, a self directed proposal pro forma, curriculum map as well as a focussed business contact resource.
The tool kit contains four models;

• Motives and Values
• Future History
• RISKIT
• Business Blueprinting

Each model comes complete with lesson plan, PowerPoint case studies supported of handouts. Full training provided by our specialist business consultant Joanna Woodford, is offered to complement the Insight Out resource.

Specialist Training Sessions
The Glasgow School of Art is in a position to offer your institution a number of staff development training options to support effective embedment and delivery of this innovative material within your curriculum.
The training offered has been developed with flexibility in mind; we aim to meet your institutional needs by offering two training options;
• Train the Trainer. (Option One)
• Co Delivery. (Option Two)

   
   
 
   
  Each training programme is delivered and fully supported by our Business trainer Joanna Woodford. Joanna has vast experience in delivery not only of Insight Out learning programme but of delivering a range of corporate staff/ business training. Her experience means that she is able to fully support training needs in an informative and effective way. The staff development will be delivered in house and can be delivered in one or two day training programmes depending on your institutional needs. Joanna will also be available to support your training two weeks after the event by a free telephone advice service.
   
 
   
   
 
   
   
 
   
 

Day 1: Introduction to material and learning models. Detailing each of the models in full.

Day 2 (Optional): Trainees practice training in a supported peer environment to experience material and learn strategies for delivery.

Maximum participants: 12


This training session is intended for academic staff and this strand will:


• Develop understanding of the overall structure of the Insight Out Learning resource, the models and how they relate to the curriculum.
• Provide training on the effective delivery of Insight Out Learning within the curriculum.
• Enable academic staff to practice delivery of the materials within a supported training environment and gain feedback.

Day 1: Introduction to material and learning models

Day 2: Staff co-deliver materials to students in session supported by the
Trainer will provide constructive feedback. Day 2, can be consecutive to day 1, but will require careful co-ordination to ensure success. 1 day training session with 1 day co delivery including feedback session.

Maximum participants: 12


(For example; 12 staff members participate in training, 4 days will be required for supported delivery and feedback. This is based on each academic staff member delivering a 1hour session with students and gaining a 1 hour feedback consultation with trainer)
This training session is aimed at academic staff who have contact with undergraduates. This strand will:


• Develop understanding of the overall structure of Insight Out Learning resource, the models and how they relate to the curriculum.
• Train staff on how to effectively deliver Insight Out Learning within the curriculum.
• Give staff the opportunity to co deliver a session, to students in a supported environment with feedback.

Please Note: The training offers free telephone support up to two weeks after the training session. Both training strands have a charge per day of £1,500.00 plus vat and expenses.
